GENERAL ROUNDUP
I'd like to give Darren Herridge a big thank you for giving me an update for Elberry Cove and confirming what I suspected. He had been down on the rocks between Broadsands and the Cove itself, and was regularly catching mackerel with a Dexter Wedge. Other people spinning have had similar results, but he hasn't seen much caught on float gear. He also said that quite often he could see the bait fish boiling on the surface, especially towards the evening, but weed is becoming a bit of a problem over the last few days.
On Sunday afternoon/evening I went spinning on the point at Thunderhole, Meadfoot beach. I caught just one mackerel. It got very busy by early evening there with 5 others arriving. I did joke to the two next to me that as soon as I left the fish would start arriving and sure enough as I was climbing back up the cliff one of them shouted at me and there was a pollock on the end of his line. Typical :-)
Darren is right about the weed but it's far more widespread. I didn't want to fish Thunderhole Sunday but all my regular spots along meadfoot to Hopes nose were covered in so much weed it was impossible to spin anywhere along the entire length.

GENERAL ROUNDUP
By Simon Day
Things have slowed down a little since last week with fewer catches being reported. With the heat wave we've just had I was down Meadfoot beach yesterday spinning and caught just one pollock. There was another chap there who said he fished Meadfoot most of the week with very few fish caught (Nope, I know you're thinking bass but he didn't catch one hehe).
Brixham Breakwater has also slowed down over the week. Still a few mackerel about but not in great numbers.
Hopes nose is also slower but it seems this is probably the better place to go for more constant fishing at the moment.
If you are looking for bass then Teignmouth is producing some good results.
I've not heard any reports for Elberry Cove but it might be worth a try spinning there.

Kyle Finnerty emailed me to say there were plenty of Mackerel around Hopes Nose with the odd Pollock thrown in.
Princess Pier is a good place for float fishing or feathering for mackerel but they are tending to be round more late afternoon or early morning. Not many reports about other species here but I believe some Pollock are being caught late afternoon into evening.
Brixham Breakwater is also producing mackerel as well as a few Wrasse and Rockling. I've not heard of any Conger being caught recently

BRIXHAM BREAKWATER
By Steven Coultham
friends and i (4 in total)came to brixham for a fishing holiday, we fished the breakwater thursday evening (2nd june) the mackerel made a good show especially the last hrs of light (all caught on feathers and spinners)oh and one garfish. We caught a few wrasse small ones on rag larger ones on squid. The largest 3 bearded rockling i've seen well over a pound.
friday and saturday afternoon/evening (3&4 june) we fished fishcombe cove. friday last hrs of light the makeral made a show i will never forget, the biggest makeral sholl i will ever see bigger than any i've seen even out on a boat, i don't know if this is normal for these waters, this was going from inside the cove and all the way along infront of rocks ( if looking out from beach on left side streching all in front of rocks). Also i caught my first 2lb + wrasse (on float with hole squid, another big wrasse 3lb+ was caught on hole squid 40 yrds out) again loads of little ones on rag.
HOPES NOSE

Just come back from a week's holiday at Waterside - went to Hopes Nose with my son on Thursday 2nd June and caught lots of Mackerel as expected, however we also had three decent sized Herring between us. We were using feathers with small hooks (size 1) which i think was why the Herring were able to take them.
HOPES NOSE
By Andy Rider
Fished from 8:30pm to 1am [Saturday], mainly around the point as it was either side of low water.
Water was 'boiling' with mackerel for most of the time I was there. Caught mackerel, herring and pollack (biggest 1lb 6ozs) on spinner.
Ledgered using rag and Lug and had 6 doggies plus a Ballan Wrasse (~2lb) - doesn't seem to be much else on the bottom at the moment.

Fished there from the lowest point of the tide (10am) to 12pm. There were mackerel about but not in any great numbers. They started arriving as 4 of us were leaving so have a lay in this Sunday and head down a bit later in the afternoon :)
We were using mackerel on floats at a 10 to 15ft depth.
