BERRY HEAD

Report for berryhead. sunday 6pm til 1am. going for cod, two rods using 2, 2hook rigs, not a sniff of anything, i was fishing off the highground using peeler, black lug, squid coctails. i have been trying all week but have only seen whiting, pout and the odd doggy.

BRIXHAM BREAKWATER

Me and my mate fished it Friday 3rd Feb from 7pm until 2am - IT WAS FREEZING!!!!! Funnily enough the only two others there when we arrived left after about half an hour. Our return for the night was four fish each, whiting for me ranging from tiny to mearly small, Richard had three whiting and a rockling of about 1.5lb.
Baits we tried were mackerel, sand eel, lug, rag, prawn (given to us by the guys leaving) and squid.
Not a fantastic result but we enjoyed it.

BABBACOMBE PIER

2nd febuary 2006 turned up on the pier at 9.00 am (high tide) and fished bottom with one rod with one up one down rig using squid and sand eel also tried floater on the other rod as the sea was much calmer then it has been lately,about 1 hour later another chap turned up and tried with a float set up using mackerel for bait but he decided to pack up after about an hour or so due to lack of interest and said he was off down to princess pier to chance his luck down there, wish i had joined him as i didnt catch anything within the 6 hours i spent on the pier and allthough i was getting knocks on the rod i couldnt hook into anything,perhaps there were a few hungry crabs lurking around the bottom,all in all a bad days fishing due to losing 4 rigs on the bottom and having a massive birds nest on the new multiplier reel (first cast novice) so a stressfull and expensive day (due to car park fees and loss of tackle) but im hoping to get back down there at the weekend weather permitting.
